EXPERIENCE
From 1975 to 1983
I supervised all public document research for an agency in Boston
that investigated potential arson-for-profit insurance claims. I became an independent title examiner in 1983
and have since searched several thousand land titles. My work has included a number of searches for
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and over 300 searches, for land
acquisition or restrictive easements, by the Massachusetts Metropolitan District
Commission, throughout eastern Massachusetts.
My early (1980s) historic work
involved searches for properties in Acton,
where I now live, and in Concord—including
two of the oldest standing houses in the center of that town. I began Worcester County Old House Histories
in the fall of 2004 and now work almost exclusively in Worcester
County.
I have been doing genealogical
research since 1993, when I began tracing the roots of my own family, and am currently
a member of New England Historical Genealogical Society, whose invaluable website
I use frequently.
Apart from my historic searches, I
handle all the title examinations in Worcester
County for a law firm that deals
with mortgage foreclosures and for another firm in Manchester,
NH, that deals with title insurance claims,
such as boundary disputes.
